|About the Book|
I am trying to get up-to-date with my Galician poetry and I was sick of reading so many men poets. Isnt it strange that the language that was given to us by Rosalía de Castro should end up being spoken with a make voice?María do Cebreiro is a good poet. She takes Novoneyra brevity to another level in some of her shorter pieces which are interspersed through the collection. The structure of the collection is given by the planet poems in which the poet draws in popular speech and dialogue. The dialogues are convincing and their gaps and spaces would work on stage were they to be performed. They remind me a little of Ann Carson.Ill look out for something more by her.
